AI marketing for electricians
When someone asks AI for an electrician near them, give it every reason to say your name.
To be recommended by AI search, an Australian electrician needs steady recent Google reviews naming the suburb and the job, a Google Business Profile listing switchboard upgrades, safety switches and EV chargers by name, a licence number shown in public, and pages that answer callout, compliance and cost questions plainly.
Ask an AI assistant "who's the best electrician near Parramatta?" and it will confidently name two or three businesses. Behind that question is a real job: a board that trips every time the kettle and the toaster run together, a dead circuit at nine at night, a charger that has to be in before the car arrives. The question is whether the AI knows your business exists.
Which six questions is an electrician judged on?
Wombid does not guess at this. Every audit puts the same six local buyer-intent questions to five AI engines, with the trade and the suburb swapped in. For an electrician in Parramatta they read:
- Who is the best electrician in Parramatta?
- Can you recommend a reliable electrician near Parramatta?
- I need an electrician for a switchboard upgrade in Parramatta. Who should I call?
- Which electrician in Parramatta has the best reviews?
- Emergency electrician in Parramatta, who can help fast?
- Affordable electrician for an emergency electrical fault around Parramatta?
Two of the six name electrical work outright and one is an emergency, which fits the trade: a sparkie is called for a planned upgrade and for a dead circuit at nine at night, and those two are rarely the same shortlist. If your profile and website only ever say "electrical services", questions three, five and six have nothing of yours to quote.
Which electrical jobs should you name?
AI engines quote specific words back. List the work your customers ask for in their own words, on your Google Business Profile services list and on your website:
- Switchboard upgrades, including old ceramic fuses and rewireable fuse boards
- Safety switch (RCD) installation and testing
- Emergency and after-hours faults: lost power, tripping circuits, a burning smell at a power point
- Power points, lighting and LED downlight replacement
- EV charger installation, single phase and three phase
- Smoke alarm supply, testing and replacement
- Ceiling fans, exhaust fans and rangehood wiring
- Fault finding for landlords, agents and property managers
How do licence and compliance details help?
Electrical is one of the few trades where the paperwork is a selling point, because it is checkable and most competitors never mention it.
- Show your electrical licence number in your website footer, on your Google Business Profile and on your quotes, exactly as it appears on the register of the regulator that issued it (NSW Fair Trading, Energy Safe Victoria, and the equivalent body in each other state).
- Say that you issue a compliance certificate. In New South Wales the electrician who did the work submits a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work (CCEW) after testing and gives the customer a copy; other states have their own certificate. Putting that in plain words on your site answers a question a cautious homeowner would otherwise have to raise on the phone.
- State your after-hours position exactly. "24 hours, seven days, Parramatta and surrounding suburbs" can be quoted. "Emergency service available" cannot.

What makes an electrician's reviews useful to AI?
Volume matters, but wording matters more. "Great job, thanks" tells an engine nothing about what you do or where you do it. A line that carries the job and the suburb in one breath, such as a fuse board swapped for a new switchboard in Northmead, carries the trade, the work and the place together.
- Ask on the day, while a tidy new board is still the best thing in the house.
- Text a direct link instead of saying "leave us a review" on the way out.
- Ask for a line about the job and the suburb. Never a script, never a rating.
- Aim for a steady drip rather than a burst of reviews followed by six quiet months.
Answer the price questions your customers ask on the phone in public instead, honestly and with the ranges you can stand behind, and you take away the main reason somebody rings three sparkies before choosing one.
What should an electrician publish?
Write down the questions your customers ask on the phone before they agree to a booking, then give each one a page that opens with a direct answer in the first two sentences. Titles that earn their place for a sparkie:
- What a switchboard upgrade involves, and what changes the price
- Do I need a safety switch on every circuit
- The power is out at my place but not next door, what now
- What an EV charger installation needs from your switchboard
- A page per suburb you genuinely service, with work you have done there
